ACME and Job Placement Ltd established a working relationship in early 1993, placing two people in the 'Bassett' section of operations. We are very proud to say that these two are still gainfully employed - 6 years later.
Currently, 17 people are employed by ACME, and they receive support from Job Placement Ltd. In the last 12 months, we have had 5 new people commence work - again all are still employed. Of the 17 employees, 15 are paid at award rates, with only 2 on a supported wage. This system allows for their productivity to be assessed, verified and accepted by the employer and the employee
The average length of tenure for these employees is over 3 years. They hold various positions within the factory covering aspects of sanding, assembly, foam cutting, webbing, cleaning, gardening and cushion filling.
The support and encouragement these employees receive from Job Placement Ltd, has indeed assisted them to learn and comprehend what is required of them in their individual jobs. I believe, ACME, as the employer, has been proactive in employing people with disabilities but this process has been made so much easier by the hands-on support provided by Job Placement Ltd.
